Licalla isn't your typical organization. It started with three friends, all professionals who happen to be Black women, sharing their experiences navigating the corporate world. As they compared stories, a powerful realization struck them: despite their individual successes, they all faced unique challenges related to their race and gender as Black women.
These challenges weren't confined to the workplace; they permeated every aspect of their lives, from their homes and communities to schools and recreational centers.
Fueled by a desire to raise awareness and create change, these friends decided to take action. Thus, Licalla was born. Our network is more than just sharing stories; it's about building a supportive community where Black women can connect, share experiences, and advocate for a more equitable future.
We believe brilliance exists within every Black woman and Black girl, and we're dedicated to addressing the challenges that hinder it from flourishing in all areas of life, working side by side with other members and allies.
